Monday: jazz jam with my buddies Rory and Andrew. Andrew is back from long cruise ship tour. I will be playing half the jam on piano, the other half drums. Thursday: Trio recording/rehearshal with William Davison and Gordon Way. Piano night for me. Friday: Drum tutoring with Lowell. We are working on playing longer phrases between the snare and bass drum. Plus, playing "The Roots". Piano lesson with Mark Eisemann. Saturday night at Audiopollination 76. I love this series. Thank you Mickle Lynn. I'm drumming. Lots of practicing this week on my instruments.
Teaching. I'm working hard on finding time for quality practice.
Jamming Thursday night at Annette. Yeah.
Lesson Day Friday: Round two with Mark Eisenman. Round one was very productive, humbling and mind opening. Ongoing drum tutoring with Lowell. Working on the "new updated" swing beat. It was a good decision to reach out to these musicians.
Sunday is my big practice day. My goal is 90 minutes of piano and drums each plus transcriptions for the blog and some video editing time.
On the video front I hope to learn how to work with two video streams and title cards this week.
Wednesday night I've a performance at the Tranzac club. We rehearsed, we are ready to make some music.
Wednesday afternoon jazz trio with Rory and Jim. Audio and a 2 camera shoot. If that works I will purchase one more camera and things will be complete there. Next up will be a simple video editing console.
Second week of teaching with a full schedule. Made it through the first. Energy management and quality control is the name of the game this year. The Toronto market is a much bigger pond to play in. Keeping one's game sharp is priority number 1.
Friday I have a jazz piano coaching session. My first jazz piano lesson since college. I'm feeling a little stale. I'm pretty excited.
